I sat beneath the waterfall, the water pounding on my head. I sat in the lotus position, focusing my mind on my training. Every few seconds, the sight of Stella crashing to the ground came into my mind. Then it would fade into me and that other person being thrown through a flaming window. I shook those images out of my mind and stood up.
'What do they mean...' I thought to myself. Without realizing, I was rolling the small, silver locket in my fingers as I stared through the mist from the waterfall. I sighed and dove into the deep, cool water, letting it wipe me clean of all bad thoughts.
I lay flat on my back in the dark lake bottom, breathing in the cool water. It was a nice change from oxygen. I opened my eyes to look up to the edge of the pool of water and noticed a tall figure standing over it. They removed their shirt and cast it aside, then their headband and a lot of bandages. They undid the belt around their shorts, then removed their shorts. They cast all of this into a pile a foot away from them and dove into the water directly above me. My eyes widened and I kicked away from where I was, trying hard to get away from them. I stopped in a dark corner of the lake and stared at the figure. I figured they were a boy becuase of the shape of their body. He had muscular, pale arms and a washboard stomach. All around him his brown hair was flowing. I stared, captivated by him. He attempted to swim to the surface for air, but for some reason, was unable to. I came too when his body went limp, and air bubbles escaped his mouth. I kicked off the rock and swam quickly towards the boy. I hoped that I was swimming fast enough that I would free him from whatever had a hold of him in time. I outstretched my arms and grabbed hold of his waist, kicking my legs hard. His body didn't move. I looked over his body and noticed a rope wrapped tightly around his ankle, which looked rather broken. I swam down and chewed away at the rope, which broke with ease. I grabbed hold of his body again and swam towards the surface.
He lay on the ground, coughing and choking. His breathing had slowed, and was almost unnoticable. I tilted his head back and checked for a pulse. When I failed to find that, I pushed his jaw down and placed my lips onto his. I then pressed down hard in the middle of his rib cage. After five minutes of this, his breathing came back and his pulse was steady. I sighed and fell backward onto my hands. He rolled over onto his knees and began to cough up water and blood. I looked him over to see who it was that I had just saved. I had no time to while he was choking or he would have died. He tucked his long, chestnut brown hair behind one ear and I saw his face for the first time that day. It was Neji, from my squad. He tried to stand up but soon fell over again, and I rememebered his broken foot, which I had probably caused. I layed his leg flat on the ground and started to work on healing it. First I took some of the bandages that he had removed before diving in and wrapped it around his foot. I then used my healing justsu on his foot to mend the bone. It took longer than a wound, but I did it. I then sat down across from him and looked him in the eyes.
"Y-you saved me." He said, breathless. I gave him a small smile and looked over his face. His eyes were a very light grey, almost white colour, and his face was firm and strong looking. He looked me over as well. He first stared into my plain, aqua-blue eyes. Then to my ever-changing hair which at the moment was my regular favourite shade of blue. Then over my body. My outfit was a blue-grey halter top with t-shirt style mesh shirt underneath. Around my wrists I had fishnet armbands and also around my ankles up to my knees. I was wearing a dark, navy blue pair of shorts, much like the ones he was wearing before he took them off. At the moment, he sat with nothing but a pair of dripping wet white boxer-shorts. I covered my mouth with a few fingers and chuckled slightly when my eyes fell upon his boxer-shorts. He followed my gaze, then blushed a deep red. He stood up and dressed himself, leaving his jacket undone in the intense heat.
"What were you doing in the lake?" he asked, frowning slightly.
"I was swimming until you dove in, then I sat in the far corner. That is, until your foot got tied up by that rope... Strange... That's only half a foot away from where I was laying... You don't think..." I said, getting lost in thought.
"If it was that close to you, then it probably was. Anyway, you want to train then?" he asked.
"If you're careful on your foot then sure." I said, then helped him up.
For the rest of that day, we trained on the water and on land until our chakra was used up.
